Full-year sales at HJ Heinz Company have hit $10bn for
the first time.
The food manufacturer said sales rose 12% to $10.1bn
(?5.1bn) in the year to 30 April, driven by 14% growth
from Heinz branded products and 26% growth from Weight
Watchers products.
In Europe, sales rose 8% to $3.5bn (?1.7bn), with a
strong performance from Heinz ketchup across the
continent and a good performance from soup, beans and
pasta products in the UK.
Heinz said it now planned to grow its core portfolio,
accelerate growth in emerging markets and strengthen and
leverage global scale.
