Blended cheese-maker Ilchester Cheese could be set for a
change of ownership after press reports on 31st July
linked the company with a ?20m takeover attempt.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the company?s owner,
buy-out house Inflexion, is considering a sale following
a strategic review of Ilchester.
A number of approaches have already been received, the
paper claims, with potential trade buyers including
Dairy Crest and Arla. Any deal is likely to value the
company at ?15m-?20m.
Inflexion had previously backed a management buy-out of
the company, which makes brands including Applewood and
exports products to more than 20 countries, in 2004.
