The cost of food will remain high for at least a decade,
the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation and the
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development
have warned.
Food prices would ease gradually but ?most agricultural
commodity prices over the next 10 years will still
exceed the average of the previous decade by 10% to
50%,? a UN and OECD report said.
Meanwhile, food prices have increased 5.8% since the
beginning of the year, Verdict Research has claimed. The
figure was based on a basket of 100 grocery items.
