Britvic has defied modest growth in the UK soft drinks
sector to post total revenues of ?690m for the 40 weeks
to 6 July ? an increase of 29.9% on the equivalent
period last year.
The soft drinks giant saw sales by volume increase by a
total of 7.8% compared to last year, driven in part by
growth of 22.3% for Britvic International.
The total revenue figure includes ?147.2m generated by
Britvic Ireland, which reported a rise in turnover of
6.1%.
?This is another period of encouraging top-line growth
and a sustained EBIT margin, in which our strong and
resilient brand portfolio has performed very well in
spite of continued challenging trading conditions,? said
chief executive Paul Moody.
?Looking forwards, although we anticipate rising input
and energy cost pressures, our strong focus on cost
control allows us to remain confident about the delivery
of earnings in line with market expectations for the
current year.?
The performance comes despite Britvic predicting that
its raw material costs for the entire year will have
risen by 4.5% - higher than the group had previously
indicated.
