Lossie Seafoods ?The Pride of Scotland? is a premium bespoke producer of Smoked Salmon supplying several of the top stores and delicatessens around the Globe. Out of the top 25 listed by The Grocer our small company supply six of them.

We produce every order to order. We don?t produce stock and sell from stock. Every order is processed by our order process department for production to produce. This ensures you get a product which is freshly produced for you, backed up with superb service to the customer.

Sustainability

We are focused on sustainability and purchase some of our salmon from the globally known company Loch Duart who are the sustainable Aquaculture specialist. We also purchase MSC Approved Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon. Lossie Seafoods gained MSC approval last year.

Staff and Career opportunities

At Lossie Seafoods we appreciate that our staff are a key factor in our operation and the growth we have shown in the past two years would not have been possible without the dedication given to the company by every member.

Our staff are aware of all our customer?s names and requirements ensuring orders are produced to the exacting standards our customers expect.

Staff training is an ongoing exercise within the company. Specialist, training is given out to the professionals - machine training is normally done by the manufacturer on site

Processing

Lossie Seafoods only purchase superior salmon from selected suppliers; Loch Duart are one of those supplier.

The salmon are processed and dry salting is done in the old fashioned way after salting, the fish mature slowly to equalise the salt before smoking. We test the salt content at this stage and before smoking.

The slow smoking begins in our ultra modern Ness smoker after smoking. The fish rest for up to 48 hours. This guarantees quality, texture and taste which you will savour and appreciate as the best you have tasted in smoked salmon

Service to our customers has become a large part of what we give the customers. We are rated by several of our customers as the top smoked salmon supplier on quality, texture, service

One German customer rates us at 99.3 % with all we do for them they are an ISO 90002.

Lossie Seafoods Ltd business is globalised; a truly International small company serving the world.

Four director owners are in the company John Cowe, Charlie Devin, George Nolan, and Derek Hutchins all with a wealth of knowledge in Smoked Salmon, and Seafood processing fresh, frozen and live.

Green environmental friendly operation

We operate a green company. Over the past 3-4 years we have reduced our water intake, fish waste, poly box disposal, transport, and goods inward costs by an average 50-65%.

Our smoker is a circo smoke machine which recycles the smoke several times before allowing it to exit the exhaust. The cycle is dry smoke settle ongoing over a 10 hour period.

We are professional smokers and operators giving the customer high quality products.
