Mrs Darlington’s is a well established family run business in Cheshire which has been making its range of over 60 award winning curds, jams, marmalades, chutneys and sauces for 27 years. Mrs Darlington is still at the helm today and her aim remains the same as it always has - to craft delicious products with a truly homemade taste.
This Cheshire success story started back in 1981 when the Darlington family found themselves with a surplus of eggs from the family farm. Not wishing them to go to waste, Mrs Darlington decided to use the eggs to make a batch of her family’s favourite Lemon Curd and sold it to local shops. Over the following months requests started pouring in from customers asking if Mrs Darlington would consider selling her other homemade jams, chutneys, marmalades and sauces too. Soon the farmhouse was just too small and in 1985 farm buildings were converted into a new kitchen. Ladies from the local village were drafted in to help and Mrs Darlington’s daughter Sarah joined the team. Since then Mrs Darlington’s Preserves has just kept growing, relocating to even bigger premises in 1992; and her other daughter Wendy recently joining the family team too.
